About DriveSafety

DriveSafety was founded in 1995. Originally, founded as Hyperion (Ft. Collins, CO), it merged with a Utah company and formed KQ Corporation, later renamed GlobalSim. In 2002, this Utah-based organization split into two entities:  GlobalSim, focusing on crane-based simulation and military applications, and DriveSafety, focusing on automobile driving simulation, driving research, driver rehabilitation, and driving fitness.

Driving Simulation

DriveSafety is one of the largest providers of advanced research-based driver training solutions available in the world and offers two classes of driving simulators: clinical driving simulators (CDS) and research driving simulators (DS).

  • Healthcare Applications (CDS). DriveSafety’s CDS-250 is used by clinicians and therapists with patients who have a wide variety of conditions ranging from injuries to the normal aging process. The simulators are used for rehabilitation purposes, patient insight, as well as increased understanding of perceptual, cognitive, and motor functions as they relate to complex activities of daily living. Training/adaption scenarios and clinical research tools have been developed to aid therapists as they work with their patients.
  • Research Applications (DS). DriveSafety’s driving simulation systems are used by universities, automobile manufacturers, rehabilitation centers, hospitals, driver educators, and private research labs. The driving simulators allow researchers to better understand driving issues by leveraging DriveSafety’s existing driving suites, extensive library of roads, intersections, vehicles, traffic patterns, landscapes, specific action scripting, and data collection.

These simulators are state-of-art, high fidelity driving environments that have been adopted by leading research universities, private labs, automobile companies, governmental organization, hospitals, medical clinics, rehabilitation centers and health care facilities worldwide. The technology solutions provide driving researchers and medical professionals with advanced packages designed for driver rehabilitation and research applications.
